Our journey began in 2016 when two respected grower groups – SGT and FGA Growers – merged to form Avalon Growers, co-owning Avalon Produce. This partnership strengthened our market presence and created new opportunities for our growers.
After successfully selling our share in Avalon Produce in 2021, the group continued operating under the name Avalon Growers Producer Organisation (AGPO).
In recent years, AGPO thrived under a lean and agile team, delivering tangible results for our growers. We focused on helping growers regain control and full visibility of their fruit, supporting due diligence processes, and establishing strong, credible relationships with retailers. This direct access to key retailers has allowed us to provide a consistent and valuable route to market.
AGPO Rebrands and Relaunches!
This year – 2025 – as we set even more ambitious goals, we have rebranded as Allied Growers to reflect our vision for the future.
Our ambition is bold: we aim to significantly increase our volume of British-grown apples and pears within the next five years. By investing in innovation, supporting growers, and inspiring more people to choose home-grown fruit, we’re building a stronger, more sustainable future for UK orchards.
We’ll be introducing new and exciting varieties, enhancing crop development, and driving further innovations across our programmes.
